The Lynnwood community transit system has put one double decker bus into rotation to test out rider interest and capacity maximization.
Double Decker What?
No, we’re not in London. LYNNWOOD.
Here’s the official scoop:
The bus holds 70 seated compared to the usual 40 which apparently is enough to roll out a test version of these monstrosities. I’ve ridden up top three times now. Though I have yet to snag a front seat, those always go first.
It is fun to see all the pedestrians on the sidewalks downtown look up we roll by. I can’t believe how many people stand there with their mouth hanging open. I mean, it’s not THAT crazy.
It’s not like we’re all riding in on a donkey or broken school bus.
Although according to the transit website Las Vegas is the only other city in America using the double decked buses for community transit.
Now the only trick is for me to stay awake during the morning ride in because up top the speaker volume announcing the stops downtown aren’t as loud as the other buses!
