Often times I find myself engrossed in a website or blog created by someone whom I don’t know. I’m always impressed by writing that keeps me on the hook. Those websites where I discover it, wonder how I ever lived without it and then spend three hours reading as much of the archives as I can to get caught up. I figure the least I can do is spread the word to others who might also be in this same situation – looking for websites to pass the time while you wait for the next life event to take place.
So, here’s my most recent list. I must admit I’m posting in part so I can keep track of the addresses and find them again when I’ve forgotten what they were. And as a disclaimer, I didn’t ask for permission to post any of these and some of these could be repeats from other blog posts on my own site. Either way, it’s fun getting a peak into someone else’s life.
1) Where in the Hell is Matt? http://wherethehellismatt.typepad.com/
If you didn’t clue into this site from my previous posts, now is the time to check it out. This guy travels the world for his latest video projects. He’s the dancing guy that reached critical mass on the Today show. He has his original video creations on his site and is also logging his current trip around the world. I really enjoy his writing style, one that some day I will emulate. I even laugh out loud at his observations. I was going to write “obvious observations” but that seemed redundant. What do they call making humor out of every day stuff? That’s what Matt does.
I read this blog and daydream about traveling the world without having to pay for it. I really don’t think I’m cut out for international traveling but deep down I pretend I am.
2) http://www.lifehacker.com/ and http://www.lifehack.org/
It wasn’t until this week that I realized there were two sites out there very VERY similar but yet very VERY different. Hours of fun reading these sites and checking out all the links they list.
Katie and I went to high school together and were on the cheer squad for a little while, prior to that we were flag team buddies through and through. Though she only lives in Monroe I haven’t seen her since high school graduation and only recently started back in contact.
My recent obsession is checking out their blog link to see if it’s been updated. Man I hate it when my favorite bloggers don’t post every day! This is a scrapbook store in Lynnwood. I read this blog and daydream of hanging out in a scrapbook store all day.
PowerPoint blog. I don’t read very many techy websites but this is one blog I do check out quite a bit. Mostly because I work in PowerPoint at work a lot. But also because I read this site and daydream about having a job where I would travel the country working at conventions and trade shows. I would love to be this guy’s assistant!
I guess that’s enough of a list for now. What are your favorites to check out?
