Today is my last day in the office this week. Thursday and Friday I’m headed off site to take a PhotoShop class. I’m super excited about it!
Maybe that’s why we had a sudden burst of energy and got so much done last night.
After realizing how much I want us to get accomplished on the house in the next two weeks and then after making a half hearted attempt at helping with those projects last weekend, I got a much needed burst of energy and enthusiasm.
Last night we got home and we called up a neighbor to come over to help with drywall work. Knowing we had a big night ahead of us, I whipped up a batch of sweet and sour chicken with jasmine rice. The guys worked while I cooked and after a quick dinner which we ate fast because we were hungry and eager to get back to work, we all went down to the rec room.
The guys continued and finished drywalling the inside of our new storage room. I mixed up two batches of concrete (small batches) for filling in the hole under the foundation of the french doors. In between batches I did the dishes and cleaned up from dinner.
A friend came over after her night out and brought us Japanese mango ice cream ball deserts. I don’t remember what they’re called but they were strangely good. I’d never had them before but since hubby ate two in about 30.7 seconds I suppose we’ll have to buy more sometime.
The concrete project was finished for the night and the drywall is up and proud on the walls. We spent the rest of the night talking about work, the latest internet findings and plans for the upcoming weekend.
It was a productive, happy, energetic and overall great night.
We finished out the evening marveling at the new iLife upgrades on the Mac and I played around with the color picker program on behr’s website:
It’s really fun if you have a color you’d like to use to decorate a room but can’t decide what other colors would coordinate. Enjoy!
