Thanks to Grandma for snagging some great pictures of our Easter weekend. On Saturday the weather was really gorgeous. Sunny, blue skies and NO RAIN. We made the trek up North to go to the tulip festival in Mount Vernon. I’d never been, even living here for 20 years so it was fun to check it out.
The traffic was pretty bad (sunny Saturday of Easter weekend, who would have guessed) so all we did was visit the food co-op for snacks and then check out one of the tulip fields but we had a great time.
I’m not sure if I’d do it again with the boys but I’m glad I got to see it at least once in my life. If we went again we could go during the week and it wouldn’t be as busy.
Here’s our crew getting to the tulips and deciding a plan while the boys have a snack.
The obligatory tulip pictures.
Here is Miles enjoying seeing Uncle C eye to eye once he was on Daddy’s shoulders.
By the time we made it out of the tulip fields we were all STARVING from not having lunch yet. We decided to find a park in Everett and get some sun and crawling around time for the boys. We looked up and visited Langus Riverfront Park in Everett. It’s a bit off the beaten path but it was a perfect pit stop for us and the facilities are beautiful.
A nice paved path for walking, plenty of green lawn, picnic shelter and restroom facilities. They even have solar powered trash compactor trash cans!
It was a great way to unwind, have some food and stretch our legs after sitting in traffic for so long. Here’s the boys hanging out in our city mini double baby jogger stroller (which we LOVE).
The next day was Easter Sunday and we had big plans to go out to brunch with a bunch of family. We had 12 people plus the boys. What a crew!
Here’s Miles humoring me by letting us get pictures with their bunny ears. He is clearly not impressed.
We dinned at the Tulalip resort Easter brunch and had a WONDERFUL time. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and they had fun little extras to make the day fun. There was an Easter bunny walking around and when I first saw it I thought for sure Graham and Miles would be scared, timid or cry at the sight of him.
But they actually enjoyed it! Miles reached out to touch his furry paws and laughed. Graham was a little more cautious but was still smiling.
Here’s all 12 of us enjoying our mimosas.
Brunch was right at the time the boys usually take their nap so of course they were pooped by the time we got home.
And just like that our busy Easter weekend was over. The boys kind of wigged out from all the overstimulation and being off schedule. Sunday night was VERY fussy. But luckily they bounced back onto their schedule and the start of this week is going well (so far).
We hope all of you had a happy Easter too!
