The Pom Pom Stuff It activity has been floating around on Pinterest and I’ve had it pinned to try it out with Graham and Miles. I bought an assorted bag of pom poms at Hobby Lobby a few months back so I was half way there. Well when we were struck with a day inside because of the snow we had time to fill. AND with Daddy at home we had an extra set of hands to help out. I didn’t have a container prepped yet but we made do.
I gave Hubby the purple ring from our Plan Toys cone sorting set. It matched up perfectly with the large pom poms. Then I grabbed the blue, red and green storage bins Grandma just snagged us from IKEA.
We sorted the poms into the three colored bins and then showed the boys how to push the pom through the ring Daddy was holding.
And they were OFF! Running from the bins to Daddy. I’d toss the poms back to the bins (or wherever they’d land with my bad aim) and they’d run back and forth. It was hard getting a good shot of the action, they were so quick!
Daddy would announce the color of the pom pom as the boys pushed it through.
They were giggling the whole time. Running back and forth and pushing the fuzzy pom poms into the ring, waiting to hear daddy say the corresponding color.
A good little take on the pom pom stuff it activity. Perfect for a day stuck inside when you need to burn off some energy on two little boys and a great introduction to colors and matching.
As the boys get older they’ll be able to do the color sorting themselves and when I get around to it, I’ll get my containers prepped and we can do the original pom pom stuff it activity.
