The last several days I’ve been lucky to have a husband and parents who can take care of my boys so I can be off with my sister in California. Her and her hubby are baby-mooning right now. Sweet little Nora kicked her way into the world on January 20th.
Curtis (aka Daddy) took some amazing pictures of her on a restful afternoon over the weekend.
I’ve had a good time with them, trying to help out where I can by fixing meals and running loads through the wash. I’ve tried to help my sister remember to take things easy, recovery takes time; don’t be too hard on yourself, learning to be a mommy takes time.
Having a sister going through some of the same things I’ve been through is such a special gift. We can share stories, give each other moral support and laugh at the contrasts between how we thought things would be and how they actually are. In another few years we’ll be watching our kids run circles around the living room and jumping up and down over their Christmas presents.
Welcome to motherhood sister!
