Last weekend we had Kerry and Zandra over for a beach boys vacation weekend. Our plans were to hang out and not do a whole lot other than keep the boys buys, spend an afternoon at the beach and get them to bed exhausted enough to sleep through our fun.
We made the trek out to Jetty Island in Everett for our beach afternoon and we had a great time. If you’re in the area you should check it out. It’s only open seasonally in the summer so go while the getting’s good.
I always enjoy watching my friends with Graham and Miles. They love them so much and the boys really light up when they’re around. Plus I get some Mommy quiet time while they keep them busy!
Their first trek out to the water, time to get our toes wet!
Graham and Kerry start on some early scoop and dumping.
Gotta go back out to get more water.
Now they’re in business with some wetter sand to work with.
What happens when you go to the beach? You get SANDY HANDS!!!
The boys are getting better about being messy. Mostly they don’t mind being in the dirt and sand until they notice it’s on their hands and toes. Then it’s all fussy, get this stuff off of me, behavior. Kind of comical.
Graham and Zandra.
Time for some lounging and planning the next trip out to the water.
And then a break for food.
I’ve known these ladies for about sixteen years!
As the tide came in we were able to relocate closer to the water and get a few more good scoop and dump sessions in. The boys had fun watching their toes disappear in the sand and knocking down the castles we made.
The other fun perk of going to Jetty Island is the little ferry ride to get to and from the island. The boys had fun during the ride, well, I assumed they did. We dubbed Miles the “grumpy cockatoo” that day because he had such a serious look on his face and funny messy hair.
Graham got to do some sunglasses modeling and giggled at how funny we thought he looked. All of that action packed into four hours. Then, we went back to the house and we ALL passed out for a nap. It was a great day and a great way to enjoy our new neighborhood.
