Playdate Cafe in Lynnwood is the newest tot spot to crop up on the scene. It’s a HUGE play area for kids under six and a full service cafe and free wifi for the parents.
We’ve been following their activity on Facebook for a while and managed to get invited a few times during their soft opening.
Here’s a few snaps of Graham and Miles enjoying the play area.
The road track around the crawler play area is ingenious! I’ve never seen anything like it and Miles had a great time driving several of the little cars around and around the realistic street.
There’s a ball pit for kids to wiggle and play. Here’s Miles with one of our buddies giggling and having a ball.
There are dozens of puzzles, a train table, a couple block tables a cute little mural wall that’s magnetic for sticking up all kinds of fun shapes.
Another great feature is all the seating for the adults. If you aren’t right in the mix with your tot you can sit close by to keep an eye on them, no matter where they’re playing. Here’s Miles cruising by to say hello.
Another view of the ball pit.
Time for a snack break! There’s kid sized seating making it easy for your littles to eat. Plus high chairs and cushy seating for the adults.
Here’s Graham having a picnic and he learned pretty quickly to keep toys out of his mouth. They have “slobber bins” to put toys that have been in someone’s mouth so the employees can clean the toys to return to the floor. Graham kept getting play food taken away by me and dropped into the bin. A good way to learn a lesson.
There’s also a large bouncy house for the older kids, a large play kitchen area complete with food and even an espresso maker so tots can keep their parents fueled on imaginary caffeine. There’s a fireman’s station with a fireman’s pole and slide, a dress up area complete with theater stage for all the budding entertainers. A cozy reading area stocked with books and a large couch. And dozens of toys all from your favorite toy makers.
We’ve been three four times and the place isn’t even officially open yet. Keep an eye on their website for more details and the latest news on their public opening.
We’ll definitely be back again and again. It’s so nice to have a large indoor play area that I can take the boys to by myself with ease. And the bonus is the owner is a twin mom herself so she really knows what all the parents would want in a space like this.
