My sister and her family came out for a visit the second week in June and boy did we have a load of fun!
The boys were overly “affectionate” with their cousin when they first arrived. Poor dear had fallen asleep in the car and instead of a nice quiet welcome to the house to get used to the place; she was greeted with jumping, yelling, laughter and a bunch of pokes in the face. The boys wanted to hug and pet her and for some reason poking her in the face was their greeting of choice.
With enough reminders to just touch her feet or arms, eventually Graham and Miles calmed down and gave her some breathing room.
There were lots of opportunities for one on one time with all the family in the house.
Graham and Grandpa reading.
Nora and Uncle Joel reading.
And Daddy with his boys doing MORE reading.
Nora is such a sweetie. She’s not yet a year and half but she held her own with her rowdy three year old cousins. She’s running, laughing, ready for tickles and talking up a storm already. She ate the boys under the table at almost every meal.
What a cheeser!
Snuggles with Grandpa and watching a bit of Kipper.
More one on one time with Grandpa.
The crew went to the Woodland Park Zoo one afternoon while I stayed home and rested.
Auntie and her nephews on the hippo.
Checking out the giraffe.
A pit stop for lunch snacks.
And look at that peacock!
It sounds like they got to see more animals than they ever had at any previous visit. Usually we have the timing to arrive right when the animals are napping or not near the viewing areas. I’m glad they had a great time and got to have a good view of so many animals.
There were also several trips to local parks and neighborhood walks to be enjoyed together.
Teeter totter rides with Uncle Curtis and wagon rides with Daddy.
Playing in the backyard.
Cousin picnic time!
There was lots and lots of digging to be done too.
They got a few group baths in when Graham and Miles managed to stay calm enough to not throw water in their cousin’s face.
It was a busy visit but so much fun. The boys really enjoyed their time with Auntie, Uncle and little miss Nora. Not to mention the extra time with Grandma and Grandpa. I LOVED having all the family around and was so thankful to have the extra help when I wasn’t feeling well and needed help with the boys.
As Miles would say “Thank you! Thank you all for coming!”
