We had a low key 4th of July with a loungy morning and then joining family at Nana and Papa’s house for a bbq. We were back home and doing the boys’ bedtime by 8:30. The boys were still awake when the fireworks really picked up in our neighborhood so we got them out of bed and watched from our windows for about an hour.
It took a while to get settled back into bed, I think it was around 11:30pm by the time they fell asleep. Then of course I decided watching tv for a bit was a good idea so I went to sleep REALLY late. Fortunately the boys slept in a little the next morning and we didn’t get rolling until 8:20 or so. So now, a low key day at home is in order.
Right now we’re having some screen time with the boys playing on the kindle and iPad and myself on the laptop. It’s kind of nice having such a quiet morning.
We’ve been making progress around the house with various things.
Potty training is going really well. Graham is in underwear all day and staying dry almost every day. He’s even started having some naps and night times where he wakes up dry. Pretty encouraging! We’re no longer doing stickers or potty prizes, they served their purpose and the boys don’t seem to care much about it anymore. Miles still wants to be in pull-ups so I haven’t pushed it too much. We do still practice using the potty throughout the day so that’s good. I plan to pick it back up with Miles in August. Perhaps there’s just too much transition going on right now or he’s just not physically ready yet.
We’re also almost done with the argyle painting in baby girl’s room. It’s looking pretty good and I’m glad we’re actually getting some decorating done!
This weekend we have few plans which means perhaps we’ll get the boys moved into their twin beds and get some more of our clutter sorted and cleaned up.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
