My dear friends Kerry, Zandra and Tim hosted a baby shower for me on a roof top in Seattle on a gorgeous day.
It was a great time for friends to hang out, meet new people and help me celebrate the little girl who will be joining our family soon.
The space needle view from the deck.
Most of the party was hand made and crafted by my friends. It was a pink and yellow party with duckies and every detail was adorable.
Mason jars for beverages complete with chevron striped straws.
Lemonade and my favorite decaf iced tea complete with swimming ducks.
And a delicious tower of s’mores cupcakes made by Kerry.
Mingling in the sun with great friends. There were folks there I’ve known for fifteen years up through friends I’ve made since Graham and Miles were born.
And lucky for me, Tim brought his camera so I got to enjoy the party instead of trying to get pictures of everything.
A fellow twin mama.
Long time Jobie friends.
One of the hostesses with the mostest.
More of the crew.
Our dear friend who married us some ten years ago and has known Joel since they were teenagers.
And dear sister-in-law.
Some of my fellow mama-friends and other great friends. It was such a wonderful afternoon for hanging out.
Kerry and Zandra, two of the hosts.
My other great mama-friend. Can you believe the three of us a have six boys between us?
After eating wonderful food and getting a chance to talk it was time to open presents. Baby showers aren’t common for second babies but this crew certainly embraced the philosophy that every baby deserves to be celebrated.
And sometimes a mama-to-be needs a bag of cheetos.
Bring on the pink!
We were showered with clothes, necessities, books and other lovely gifts.
I laughed out loud at the fuzzy winter boots complete with sparkly bows. It’s going to be fun having a girl!
Kerry gave us some of her favorite childhood books.
Dresses and pink! Two things our household hasn’t seen among all the boy stuff.
Her first cheerleading outfit.
And other vitals like her first pair of chucks!
My mom-in-law knitted more sweet things for baby girl.
Including a sweet little hat, this will definitely go in our hospital bag.
And some of the gifts match our monkey theme for her room.
My sister and mother were in California and couldn’t make it but I received a surprise package from my sister – complete with a hand made card with help from my little niece.
And lots of other goodies too.
The crew who threw me the shower – I’ve known these guys since sophomore year of college…. how many years is that guys?
Thank you again to everyone who was able to make it out for the shower and for all the wonderful presents. You definitely know how to make a lady feel like a queen and now our house is ready for baby!
