Graham has always loved letters, reading about them, singing the songs, playing with any toy that has them, learning to spell his name and lately learning to write them.
One book that he likes is Boom Chicka Chicka ABC, a delightful little book with a simple story but includes all the letters. We only have the board book version, the paper version is a bit longer.
So randomly last week when I was trying to keep the boys happily playing at the table since we were all sitting together I suggested Graham DRAW a cocoanut tree (and Miles too) and then we could play our “chicka chicka game” where I read the story and Graham acts out the book with letters.
I got the boys sheets of paper and crayons and they drew their trees. Miles played along but mostly did his own thing while Graham was more into the activity.
Then once our trees were finished I read the book slowly while Graham scrambled to find the letters and put them on his tree.
It was a fun little variation to our other letter games and really spoke to Grahams love of letters and drawing.
