She even had her next well baby check up last week and passed with flying colors! She’s only 35% weight but 86% height – looks like she’ll be a long and lean bean. She’s rolling over every chance she gets, pulls her toes into her mouth and loving bath time now. She’s still nursing well and has had a few nights of 10 hours of sleep. Plus I’m happy to report our day time naps have smoothed out and she’s now napping in a pack and play in the guest room twice a day reliably, sometimes she’ll get a late third nap if her earlier naps weren’t very long. Time marches on in the Daveye house!
It started last Sunday when Joel said he had a sore throat and felt like he was coming down with a cold. The sickies progressed through the family taking down Joel, then Graham and then Miles and finally a week later I’ve got a full blown head cold. I did my best to not catch it. Joel even slept on the couch for three nights so I’d be out of the cloud and Alice could sleep better and not wake up every time he had a coughing spell. Next time I’ll just have a make out session with him and get it over with.
We’ve enjoyed a lot of popsicles in the house, keeping the boys throats cool and trying to get some extra hydration.
The boys sure don’t know how to enjoy a sick day. I kept trying out movies to keep them on the couch and calm and they would only last about forty minutes before wanting to do something else. But they were too sick to have the patience to do anything. SO MANY tantrums over frustration and things brother was doing to them!
We’re a week and a day in and Joel thinks he’s over the worst of it while I feel like it’s just beginning for me. Being sick is just so crummy. No one feels good, yet no one can nap on the couch and rest. We’re cranky, tired, not wanting to eat and not able to sleep through the night.
I hope it’ll clear out fast, I’m getting tired of helping the boys blow their noses.
Luckily little miss doesn’t have any symptoms yet.
