Joel and I snuck away to Las Vegas for Valentine’s Day weekend and enjoyed some much needed time away from all things toddler to reconnect as a couple. There’s something about adding a third child to your family that makes time pass so much faster. Before you know it it’s spring!
Here are my three favorite pictures of the kids right now. The first two taken by my sister while we were away and the third my mom took when we had an outing to St. Edwards State park on what happened to be Alice’s 6 month birthday.
I like the candid-ness of this photo of Miles. He often put on a “fake” smile or doesn’t want to play along and hold still for photos; so having such a natural picture that really looks like him is so rare. He’s in our backyard and I think he was having a snack with his cousin Nora. This has me looking forward to our summer where we’ll spend a lot of time in the backyard, digging, running and splashing in the wading pools.
I also like this picture of Graham because it shows off his sweet side. I continue to struggle with Graham’s personality. He can have such high highs and low lows. It’s like trying to put a sweater on a tornado sometimes. It is exhausting and can be a daily frustration when his attitude effects how the whole family feels. But when he’s in a good mood he can be so sweet. He loves to laugh and show off his latest pictures of something he’s drawn or written. And yes, we’re still into planets in his world.
And then there’s Alice, 6 months old already and started on solid foods. She has her two bottom front teeth and I fear I’ll be planning her one year birthday party before I get back in the habit of blogging regularly. She’s an excellent sleeper and loves to laugh at her brothers. That pretty much sums up the life of a baby in our household.
I’m happy to report we’ve made it out on the other side of the head colds that would not go away. In a few short weeks is our next SNOMOMS club consignment sale and I have boxes and boxes of things Alice has already outgrown to send off to other families. The boys turn 4 next month and then we’ll be hosting family for Easter and well on our way into getting ready for summer time.
