The boys are at school and Alice is napping. I should be taking a shower or napping or doing chores but right now I just wanted to sit with a cup of coffee in the silence and soak it in.
You guys! Alice is just the most precious little girl I’ve ever spent so much time with.
She’ll be crawling any week now and I know I’ll be pulling my hair out when it happens but until then I just can’t get over how fun she is to be around right now.
She’s napping like a champ, eating up all my purees and squeals like she’s trying to be a part of all the noise in the house. She’s patient and just gives me a look like “It’s okay mama, deal with my crazy brothers. I’ll just hang out here until you can get to me.”
Those early months were so hard in so many ways but now I feel like (for the time being) we’re really in a good groove.
There’s so many things I want to accomplish in a day, more than most of it never gets touched. There’s so many ways I want to be a better parent for Graham and Miles but mostly I just do my best.
And really that’s all that any of us parents out there can do.
For our kids.
Because all they want are their basic needs met plus our love and attention.
And perhaps it’d be nice if mommy also took the occasional shower.
