Last weekend was an awesome replenish and refresh for me. I hadn’t realized how much I needed it until I was a few hours in. Joel took care of the kids for twenty four hours and I went shopping, running errands, and then had an overnighter hang out with my squad besties. After sleeping in we walked to breakfast and I had cup after cup of HOT coffee I was able to enjoy and actually finish.
I got quiet time away from the kids and although I would have loved to have Joel along, it was nice to have such a break from my regular routine.
I had twenty four glorious hours of no laundry, no dishes, no meal prep, staying up late, and having conversations about things other than potty training and schedules. I didn’t even have to remind anyone to wash their hands!
Life with kids can get so busy, the house is always noisy, there’s always a mess to clean up, or a meal to get ready. You get consumed by the business and forget to appreciate all the blessings in life. I feel like I was able to spend time thinking about myself and appreciating all that I have in this world – just in time for Thanksgiving.
Mark, Tim, Zandra, and Kerry – thank YOU for always being awesome friends and including me in the squad retreat.
